— What you might call a 'gastro bar à vins'. If you like quality wine by the glass and some nice bistro food this places is next to the Buttes Chaumont park. Its inviting for couples.

— Open 7 Days a week for breakfast from 8am until midnight. Its a casual modern European men rather then traditional French. Chicken Caesar Salad, Crayfish and vegetables nems, Tuna steak, Five Spice Pork and Rib Eye steak. Service is efficient and meals are well priced from €15 for a main.

La Table d'Eugene
— A new and very popular restaurant in the 18th. Expect good quality bistro food from 25 euros for two courses or 30 for three. Expect dishes like slow cooked lamb or creamy risotto with herbs,or a variety of tagines. Lovely portions and an excellent choice of wines. What more could you want from two very young chefs?

Best Crepe House - Le Petit Josselin
— The French love their crepes, whether its with bacon and eggs or sticky syrup there are so many 'creperies' around Paris. I'm not a fan but I'm told the best is in a little bistro in the heart of Montparnasse and a favourite of Parisian who come from other arrondissements.

La Mer a Boire - where locals might head
— This cafe/bar/restaurant is situated in the 20th and has great views of Paris. There's a monthly calendar of music, art, poetry. This is a slice of Paris where students and arty types hang out. Prices for Tapas are €5. Open Tuesday to Saturday - Midday to Midnight.

— A wine bar, club come dining experience with choices such as Norwegian Royal Crab, Steamed Cabillaud (fish) or grilled Saint-Pierre with thyme and peppered parsley juice. Menus are reasonably priced from 30 euros or a la carte around 80 euros pp.

Paul Bert - Best value Paris Bistro
— A great day out in Paris is to wonder the Marche Aux Puce then a bistro lunch at the Bristo Paul Bert.
