Le Meurice
— No real need for introductions, other than to say its one of the best in Paris. Situated on rue Rivoli and more history than you'll care to absorb, its recent redesign by Phillipe Starck has attracted huge appraisal. Dining perfection at the Michelin star, 'Le Meurice' surrounded by beautiful chandeliers or somewhat casual in the 'Dali'.
Family Promotion until end December: Two connecting Superior Rooms - 1260 euros per night This "Paris en Famille" package includes: American breakfast, Teddy Bear Gift on arrival as well as lollies, comb and slippers and of course a colouring kit, puzzles and DVDs. A hotel treasure hunt. Possible upgrade to suite.
What's also special is the 'bateau', on loan, to sail in the Tuileries, tickets to the 'carrousel' and, for the parents, access to the gym, 'petit fours' that are not for sharing and a good night's sleep I'm sure! This is a wonderful wonderful hotel having stayed many years back with my two-year old, but in a standard room, he still has his Teddy.
Sounds magical? Nice Christmas present for the family.

Like Art? The Square - 4 stars
— Hotel: Very modern, hip and frequented by business types. Its a boutique hotel of only 22 rooms. Opposite is the large French national radio station, so lots of creative types in this hotel. The area is walking distance to the Eiffel Tower but its not right bank 'smack' in the middle of shops and cafes and around 5 minutes to the metro. Large art pieces adorn the walls and the Zebra restaurant, also very groovy, is always busy.
Rooms: Modern, muted tones, lots of tafetta, modern bathrooms, separate toilets. Room are a little larger than most hotels.
Family: Promotion: 2 adjoining rooms for either 4/5 persons breakfast included. Babysitter available. Complimentary fruit juice or soda in childrens' room - 500 euros, which is not bad for a four star hotel.
Area: Business district, close by to gym and beauty centre. Walk to most attractions or a short metro, Louvre 4km, Invalides. Metro 2 minutes.

Style with comfort - Valadon
— A small, elegant townhouse with only 13 rooms and a family cottage in Paris - what luck! I don't think you'll find better rates in Paris, plus breakfast!
Rooms: Modern touches, stripped curtains, matching linen, a little more spaces than Parisian hotels.
Location: Short walk from the Eiffel Tower, Invalides, Champs Elysees and many other sites. In the neighbourhood : Boutiques, cafés, restaurants and the famous market street Rue Cler.

Parisian Views at the Familia - 2 stars

Area: You're in the heart of the Latin Quarter/Sorbonne quarter and walking distance to most attractions.
Rooms: Comfortable, simple fittings. Some rooms have a mural fresco by local artists. 8 rooms with balcony and lovely street views. Quiet. Modern, basic marble bathrooms.

Space and lots of it - Le Littre Rive Gauche
— Hotel: In Paris you can choose to stay somewhere very stylish like 'Petit Moulin or The Five' or one of Mr Starck's numerous hotels, known for design not space. This hotel is perfect for those who need space and is well located on the Left Bank.
Rooms: There's a strong emphasis to cater for kids, child's menu via room service, cartoons and starting from 150 euros for a standard to 450 euros for a suite. The suites are enormous and most have a sitting room and large bathroom. This one is for those who like 'homey' comforts, and have large suitcases. Special gift for the kids when you book with myweekin.
Area: Saint Germain just off rue du Rennes, minutes from Gare Montparnasse station. Shopping on rue de Sevres; Bon Marche is a stroll away. Plenty of cafes and bars nearby. Discount shopping rue Meslay. We'll put more in your agenda.

Just the basics but comfortable at the des Mines.
— I normally try and find a little more charm but this 2 star hotel was voted one of the best in Paris by the 'Sunday London Times' 2007, for a quadruple under 100 euros. Current price is actually 130 to 170 euros for 4 so not bad. It is also centrally located and walking distance to most attractions Luxembourg Garden, Pantheon. Breakfast is also a good deal.
Rooms: Basic, simple fittings. There are 50 rooms all equipped with hair dryer, cable. air-con, internet and Life. Bar and reception area.
Area: Lively Latin Quarter, walk to Pantheon, Notre Dame

Comfort for the four of us at the Danube!
— I'm always on the lookout for family comfort hotels, somewhere where the beds are not rolled in and rolled out each day. This hotel, once a private house in the 1870s, offers 5 apartments for up to 4 people, two TV sets and twin beds or a single bed in a separate rooms. Yes, perfect for a family.
Rooms: Cheerful with lots of character, you will find a small patio, lots of antiques throughout, chandeliers and gilt mirrors. Furniture is modern, some rooms however with 'Toile' and good size marble bathrooms.
Area: In Saint Germain, walking distance (10 mins) to the Orsay Museum, Notre-Dame and Louvre. Shopping everywhere!

Des Bains at Montparnasse
— Hotel: Charming and located close by to all the life of Montparnasse. There's a small courtyard, possible terrace dining for breakfast. Some great ''Belle Époque' restaurants close by. You have air-con, English TV although limited.
Rooms: Its always difficult to find rooms or apartments for families in Paris, this one has several at 155€ for up to 4 persons. Design is simple, clean white walls, floorboards, simple light fixtures and rugs.
Area: Montparnasse Park, a good 10 minutes walk to St-Germain, Gare Montparnasse close by for those catching a TGV.
