'Un secret" Hotel Particulier Montmarte — This is one of those little 'secret' places not heavily advised, unless its about its design or winning an award. There are five luxurious suites and often booked out by regulars who enjoy the privacy and intimacy of their stay. There is a small garden for breakfast or an afternoon of reading. Its almost rural with its leafy surroundings. Only five rooms in this 18th Century townhouse, the exterior is the only reminder of its past.

All the rooms are individually designed with flair and creativity. With around 45 to 80 sq metres this is much bigger than any hotel apartment. Slick floorboards, large art 'tableux' all have luxurious bathrooms combining marble and granite, towel warmers. The rooms are very much for those seeking something different, a little eclectic perhaps.

Expect between 290 and 600 for their larger suite, you can choose your room on arrival if not already taken.

Hotel Fouquet's Barrière — One of the most Luxurious hotels in Paris, where else but the Champs-Élysées, the most famous street in Paris. Guests must visit and spend time in the incredibly decadent spa and beauty salon not to mention the indoor pool, very few in Paris. After yet another renovation, its glistening. An elegant restaurant, Le Diane, is also well-frequented by local rich Parisians for the terrace dining as is the Le Lucien bar, so much handshaking. There's also a casino, dance and caberet shows and a non-smoking 'salle' finally!

Rooms: Spacious, clean simple design, lots of beige and neutral colour blend with a leather panelled wall in some rooms. Designed by the respected Jacques Garcia his rooms incorporate views, grand sweeping staircase. Practically, rooms have all latest technology equipped throughout.

Area: Perfect to stroll to the Crazy Horse, shopping, most monuments such as the Louvre, Place de la Concorde and metro and taxi within seconds, I'm sure. There are many great hotels in Paris, and, this is one of them.

My pic this month de Sers — A very popular and trendy hotels with all the right ingredients for a successful stay. Rich, decadent interiors, modern but matched with a little art deco. A wonderful restaurant and terrace dining. A former mansion its been immaculately restored. The S'Bar, with its large round leather chairs against the bright pink carpet and soft lighting will have your parting with your euros for at least one drink. Gym, beauty and relaxing centre for spas, massage and other pampering.

Rooms: If money is not object the Terrace with private and magnificent views of Parks (from €2200), otherwise enjoy the comfort in a Superior room with white marble, views, decadent!

Area: Heart of the 'Golden Triangle' in Champs Elysées.

All modern touches at Sezz — A very popular hotel with design enthusiasts particularly for its originality and all the great technology features throughout the hotel and rooms. This is a truly luxurious stay, and booked out during the fashion shows, when prices jump. If you can stretch the budget, the Loft is the best in the hotel, from 600 euros in the low season. One of the soon to be awarded '5 star' hotel in Paris. I wouldn't describe it as family friendly, lots of young beautiful couples everywhere, bar, dining room, foyer so bring your 'Sunday' best, somewhere to wear the stilettos.

Area: Not close by to nightlife but a short taxi ride away and there's plenty going on in the hotel. Walk to the Eiffel Tower.

Rooms: Bright and open, every light features has some adjustments, Bang & Olufsen TV, DVD, minibar, separate shower and bath in creamy Italian marble. Some rooms feature Japanese style bathrooms, all are supplied with Kiehls products. The beds are a 'stand alone' feature in each of the rooms.

Why Go: Not only for the design but their Turkish baths, massage parlor and fitness centre.
